Fused Glass Accent Light - C'est La Lune (It's The Moon)
C'est la Lune is a fused glass table sculpture and accent light. The central area of raked glass has the swirls and eddies of the ocean with the moon rising above it. A Celtic knot design and the phrase "C'est la lune que j'aime le mieux" (It is the moon I like the best) were hand painted using liquid platinum and firing for permanence. The glass is seated in a wood base with a 4 watt bulb behind it. The piece can be enjoyed with ambient room light or illuminated. The title and phrase come from a story about a mother and daughter who are separated but realize that despite the distance, they both see the same moon. This piece was for a young woman who was preparing to go off to college. The ocean will remind her of her home in Hawaii and the moon will remind her that she is not so far apart from her family after all.

Feb 23, 2024What a wonderful artist Michelle is! After meeting with us initially to better understand what we had in mind for the transom window, she prepared several artist drawings with suggested themes. Every one was a possibility that we could have been pleased with. With her talent it made it difficult to decide. We settled on one, then changed to another, and finally after incorporating elements from more than one, and with further changes and additions we finally settled on what has become a work of art in the 6' wide arched transom window above our 8' front doors. It incorporates elements of the family's heritage with a truly wonderful rondel at it's center.

Apr 26, 2014Michelle was fantastic to work with, I can't reccomend her highly enough, this is not the first time I have commissioned custom art work but it is by far the best experience I have ever had with an artist, she communicated clearly and often with photo's and updates and worked really hard to make sure the final product was as we had envisioned, she finished on time, on budget and the glass arrived with no damage whatsoever. We will defintely recommend her to friends and use her on future projects.
