Fused Glass Table Sculpture - I Luna (Up Above)
This fused glass table sculpture is part of a four piece series that was inspired by the Hawaiian chant "Ke Ao Nani" (The Beautiful World). In the chant, I luna (up above), is where the birds soar in the heavens. I sought to capture the openness and freedom of a bird in flight by my choice of soft colors and undulating lines. The center tapestry of rich dichroic colors calls to the thrill of soaring up above the world. The glass sets in a copper frame seated in slate base and framed in mahogany. It looks stunning on a desk, shelf or room divider. Approximate dimensions: 10" H x 11 1/2" W x 5" D
