"Hoe a mau" means to paddle together- to make the most of each contributor's strength. This glass sculpture is composed of three elements: the mountains, the surf and the deep ocean. The glass was kiln carved with patterns reminiscent of the Ko'olau mountains with their craggy faces, the swirl of the surf as it hits the shore and the beautiful stars of the deep ocean- the sea urchins. Each piece was then kiln formed into curing shapes that interplay with each other. It is set upon a base of travertine framed in mahogany. This piece makes a unique table sculpture that transmits and reflects the ambient light in the room. Each viewing angle offers a new vista. Approximate dimensions: 9.5" D x 13" W x 9.5" H

I create custom stained glass windows and fused glass art work with unique designs and handcrafted excellence. My passion for glass germinated in the cathedrals of France, developed roots in Hawai`i and is now branching out in Oregon. Commissioning artwork is very rewarding. The result is a piece of art to which you have a uniquely personal connection. Your involvement in the process can range from a general idea of the design or purpose of the piece to an ongoing conversation as we develop a design that expresses your voice. Your satisfaction is always my primary goal. Finding the perfect gift is time well spent when you give a quality handmade item that brings joy to the person who receives it. In addition to commission work, I create ready-to-purchase boutique items each of which is unique. From fused glass sculptures that bring new energy into a space, fused glass table ware for that special occasion, to personal items for the office and library, or one of a kind jewelry, you'll find your next piece to gift or treasure at Caron Art Glass.
Remi Gangarossa
For Remi's I need the inside of a glass bowl paintedMichelle was such a pleasure to work with! It's always refreshing to work with someone who keeps a solutions-oriented open mind. I had a pretty tough ask of Michelle, and she helped me think outside the box to make my vision a reality. Her approach to art is unique, and she delivers fantastic results!

Ariel Grange
For Ariel's GlassworkMichelle is great, she is very good at communicating and sent alot of messages most with a picture or 2 of her process which was great to see. I needed it by a certain date and she finished in very close to that date (there was a few issues with material orders) and it was gorgeous!
Very impressed and I thank her very much again!
Gregory Murnane
For Gregory's Stained GlassFrom initial contact to delivery, Michelle has been nothing but a consummate professional. The piece she made is not only gorgeous, but exactly what I was hoping for when I first posted my request.
I could not possibly be more happy with the work she has done, the speed she made the piece with, and her communication throughout the entire process, both in explaining the options available, and turning my idea into a treasured glass artwork.
Neil McAfee
For stained glass for transom window over front doorWhat a wonderful artist Michelle is! After meeting with us initially to better understand what we had in mind for the transom window, she prepared several artist drawings with suggested themes. Every one was a possibility that we could have been pleased with. With her talent it made it difficult to decide. We settled on one, then changed to another, and finally after incorporating elements from more than one, and with further changes and additions we finally settled on what has become a work of art in the 6' wide arched transom window above our 8' front doors. It incorporates elements of the family's heritage with a truly wonderful rondel at it's center.
Neil Waxman
For Neil's GlassworkMichelle is the consumate artist/professional. She took us from a concept of what we were thinking to finished product by educating us on the different means of producing the glass art panels she created for us. We provided her with a picture from South American, which she use to create two raked panels, which we will mount and back light. She took the time to find out what we wanted and helped us define it. She sent progress reports with pictures as the panels were created. She sought our feedback throughout. The finished panels are stunning, and will be a wonderful reminder of our travels to South America. I recommend Michelle and her work with the great enthusiasm.
