Whimsical Art Glass Mosaic Chess Board - Mexican Bobbles
The client had collected bobble animals from Mexico and wanted a custom made chess board that would accommodate the pieces and make for a whimsical and very unique chess set. The squares are a large 2.5" square and the border uses warm, bright colors reminiscent of Mexican folk art. At each corner there is a lime green fused glass cactus with orange, yellow, lime and black spines that I tack fused n order to keep the slightly raised texture. The board is 24" x 24" and is framed in poplar that I painted a semi-gloss black. Chess pieces are not included. Contact me to commission an art glass chessboard that is uniquely yours.
