This is a brand new "Montana" shelf from our Mountain Elegance line. It's made of Knotty Alder and includes hand hammered, thick metal straps. Each shelf is individually distressed and glazed. Also included are easy to follow instructions to get your shelf up in no time! Shelf Measurements 8" deep, 8" tall, 66" long Hammered Black Steel Straps 1.75" wide Other lengths (42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72), and other stain colors, are also available. My grandfather began designing and building fireplace mantels and cabinetry around 1901. When I started school around 1962 (5 years old) I loved to go to "the shop" and help. Even though my contribution was more getting in the way than anything else, my father helped me feel like I was contributing to production by paying me $1 an hour. In 1962 that was a handsome wage even for a grown man and here I was getting paid to hang out with sawdust all over the floor (and myself)…talk about a young boys dream come true!
Since then we've developed a unique line of fireplace mantels and shelves unlike anything else I've seen. We take great pride in the design and quality of each piece we build.

May 8, 2020John did a beautiful job on our custom mantels. We have a two sided brick fireplace and he was able to custom make two beautiful wood (painted black) mantels. The only negatives was this project was delayed and communication was difficult due to COVID pandemic. But in the end we were very happy with the results. Thank you John!
