Floating Shelf Fireplace Beam Mantel Rustic Distressed With Antique Bolts

$585+

HELLO! Our "Durango" mantel is shown here in Knotty Alder and it's one of our top selling items. Knotty Alder is a very unique wood with large and small, open and closed knots. Its swirled grain and sometimes even small splits or cracks give it a very distinct appearance. We stand behind our Mantels making certain that they are built safe and constructed well. We cannot guarantee knots or grain placement because letting its properties occur at random…well that's just part of its natural beauty! The main photo is the color and level of distressing you will receive unless you specify something different. Please have a look at the attached photos (stain charts) and select any stain you'd like! Then simply include a note as you go through checkout of what stain you'd like, and we'll make it happen! Each one is distressed and glazed by hand giving it that "antique" effect and makes each shelf unique. It is used mainly as a fireplace mantel, however it has also been used many times as a bedroom headboard or just as an accent shelf anywhere a rustic touch is needed. The blackened steel washers are 3" across. Both the washers and bolts have been lightly filed to highlight the manufacturers production stamp. At 8" tall and 8" deep it has a very bold effect wherever it is used. Want one taller? Want one deeper? Just Ask!

My grandfather began designing and building fireplace mantels and cabinetry around 1901. When I started school around 1962 (5 years old) I loved to go to "the shop" and help. Even though my contribution was more getting in the way than anything else, my father helped me feel like I was contributing to production by paying me $1 an hour. In 1962 that was a handsome wage even for a grown man and here I was getting paid to hang out with sawdust all over the floor (and myself)…talk about a young boys dream come true!

Since then we've developed a unique line of fireplace mantels and shelves unlike anything else I've seen. We take great pride in the design and quality of each piece we build.
