Butcher Block Rare Earth Magnets
Very strong rare earth magnets embedded in the side of an end grain chopping block keep your good knives conveniently close at hand, and protected. Photos are past custom-built blocks from spalted/ambrosia maple. Nearly any wood and any custom details are possible; please start a conversation to discuss yours. Prices vary based on dimensions, wood and degree of detail, such as arch legs, groove-work, and number of magnets. Normal turnaround is *usually* 3-6 weeks from time a 1/2 deposit is received. We work with responsible local arborists and sawyers to perform the modern art of urban wood salvage around the greater Asheville area, preserving large trees of a wide variety of species in beautiful slab form that would otherwise be ground up at the mulch yard and turning them into custom-designed furniture and–for lack of a more humble word–art.
