Custom made butcher block work surface, only end grain is built to endure decades or even generations of hard use while retaining its unique beauty. This particular block measures 48" long by 24" wide by only 1.5" thick. All my blocks come fully seasoned with my own Block Sauce, containing locally-sourced pure beeswax. We work with responsible local arborists and sawyers to perform the modern art of urban wood salvage around the greater Asheville area, preserving large trees of a wide variety of species in beautiful slab form that would otherwise be ground up at the mulch yard and turning them into custom-designed furniture and–for lack of a more humble word–art.
