We love to show off unique wood slabs with a modern custom metal base. Just a few examples of past work pictured in burl maple and ambrosia red maple. Price estimate is based on a slab under 4' long with simple custom metal base, not including crate and shipping. Each slab has its own character, inventory of kiln-dried slabs varies and many woods are available. Unique slab top hall table with custom steel base–all chosen and built to your specifications. I specialize in custom furniture from salvaged trees, unique and heirloom quality end grain surfaces, butcher blocks, tables, and islands all sizes.

We work with responsible local arborists and sawyers to perform the modern art of urban wood salvage around the greater Asheville area, preserving large trees of a wide variety of species in beautiful slab form that would otherwise be ground up at the mulch yard and turning them into custom-designed furniture and–for lack of a more humble word–art.
