Natural Slab Bench
One of a kind slab bench, in ambrosia red maple. Heavy! Measures 8'10" long 33.5" wide 18" tall We left this piece the way it was during our most recent milling day, back in January, 2016. It just seemed like the right thing to do. Top is sealed with shellac, cracks filled with epoxy, and finished with flexible marine varnish for exterior use. Bench has not been kiln-dried. We're letting it just do its thing. Local delivery by tow truck available (up to 50 miles or so). Come see in person and make an offer!

We work with responsible local arborists and sawyers to perform the modern art of urban wood salvage around the greater Asheville area, preserving large trees of a wide variety of species in beautiful slab form that would otherwise be ground up at the mulch yard and turning them into custom-designed furniture and–for lack of a more humble word–art.
