Custom Painting Of A Mosaic In Itally
This is a painting done from a photograph of a tile mosaic in Italy. I carefully sketched it out and then painted it to match the original mosaic. I also photographed and then uploaded the image to a print on demand website so the new owner can have prints made to give to family members.

I am a multimedia artist based in Northern New York with over 10 years working with clay and much longer with paint. My work can involve anything from a tea pot shaped like your cat to a large painting, or jewelry.
I love working one on one with people to bring their ideas into reality. If you have an idea for something that you just can’t seem to find it anywhere, I want to hear from you.
My work is a fusion of art and craft that blurs the boundary between these traditions.
I attended Alfred University from 2002 to 2006, earning a BFA. I have attended Medalta International Artists Residency, The Penland School of Crafts, Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, and the Women's Studio Workshop for residencies and workshops in ceramics. I also attended the Vermont Studio Center for a four-week residency in painting. My work has won numerous awards, been shown in various local galleries as well as venues in Canada, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and New York City.

Jul 23, 2012"Great" does not even begin to describe working with Sara. Although I didn't have a large project, she went out of her way to make sure I was completely satisfied with my small shot glasses staying in constant communication. Not only did she make a great creation story but even took them on a little field trip around town and documented the entire adventure. Working with Sara was easy and fun! I'll absolutely be working with her in the future, I highly recommend her!

Dec 29, 2015The project itself was almost exactly what I expected it to look like. The detail was great and coloring was fantastic. Sarah was great at communicating and showing interest. My one complaint was the timing. I requested to be in possession of the project before Christmas - I didn't receive it until after the following weekend.

Apr 20, 2014Sara is awesome. This is the second project I've done with her -- both items of serious importance, images of gods worshipped by members of my family. She has an uncanny talent for extracting telepathically the exact image you were thinking of (or, if you didn't have an image in your head, inventing one which turns out to be the exact image you *should* have been thinking of) and rendering it in clay. She's also professional enough, and humble enough, to listen to concerns, make corrections to order, and solicit your opinion about what the statue needs to be absolutely perfect. As a result, it usually is. Thanks, Sara! You can make my household's gods anytime. :D

Mar 27, 2016I had commissioned a tapestry for my office and the first part of the project was to have a painting done. This part has been completed and I was satisfied with the rendering.
