Built-In Wall Unit With Fireplace Mantle

I asked Adam to make a walnut extendable dining table for me. I knew exactly what I wanted, so that made the process very straightforward. Adam always asked me questions when there were design decisions- finish, extension style, edge profile, etc.- which I really appreciated. Overall he was very easy to work with and communicated well during the whole process. He has very good craftsmanship and created a table that will be in our family for many years.

Would definitely use Adam again, the table looks beautiful.

Adam is by far one of the most knowledgeable, professional designers/woodworkers I've come across. I had a very difficult custom job that was initially farmed out to others and was without success. Nearing exhaustion, I found Adam and felt fortunate he took an extraordinary amount of time and care in answering all my questions and was very detailed oriented throughout the project to completion. We exchanged no fewer than 50 messages and I admire his patience and commitment. You could tell he really wanted to get it right and made me feel part of the process. He even came to my house to spec, the project. The finished product came out well, but more importantly was built with very high quality wood and designed exactly as he drew it. I think the old adage,"you get what you pay for" is very much applicable, and having tried two other designers, if I just went with Adam to being with I would have wound up saving money. I recommend him without reservation and will use him again for sure. Thanks Adam!

Adam at AJC Woodworking did an incredible job on our kitchen table. It definitely wasn't a simple job but he came through with exactly what we wanted. We can't recommend him highly enough. Look forward to working on more projects in the future.

this was my first experience on custommade and i must say working with adam was a pleasure. he is very professional and was very accommodating with me as a novice. he guided me whenever i was uncertain and the resulting product was excellent. both me and my wife loved the table base. adam even helped us move a very heavy piece of glass on top of the table base. highly recommend him.

First off, let me say that this was my first experience using CustomMade, and I'm very happy that I took this route vs. Angie's List or finding a carpenter elsewhere. Adam (aka AJC Woodworking) was great throughout the entire process of building a custom cabinet for my bedroom. While I was able to create the design myself in Google SketchUp, he made a trip to my apartment to make exact measurements himself and made sure everything would line up. Because I live in a pre-war, none of the walls are remotely even - but he still managed to deliver a cabinet that basically fit perfectly in place - something I never would have managed, no matter how many times I may have measured. He also had to make certain design decisions to ensure it would be built in a way that would ensure stability while still meeting my aesthetic expectations - and the price for this was competitive as well. His craftsmanship was excellent - there were some unique features I requested, like perforated sheet metal for the doors, which he sourced and installed - and they look great. He painted it in the bold tomato-red color I requested and recommended the perfect gloss finish for it. The mix of birch plywood and poplar for the shelving and doors he suggested were the perfect choice. All the materials he used are solid, and the unit was built well - it is definitely a strong and sturdy unit that I expect to last forever! Also, Adam was still able to deliver the cabinet to me just a few weeks after we had planned as his shop was affected by Hurricane Sandy - and I'm grateful he communicated this all to me well throughout the process. His delivery and installation went extremely smoothly and I'm completely satisfied with the results. If you are looking for a custom piece of carpentry, I'm confident that AJC Woodworking can deliver!
