Found customade, requested my project. Fredric Blum Design created my vision, communicated often and answered all of my questions. My trivets are wall art, but completely functional. I imagine his mainline products are fabulous to behold.

Fred worked with me to find the perfect slab for my live edge table and did a beautiful job customizing it exactly as I wanted. I appreciated his communication, care and friendliness throughout the project. Highly recommend!

We started out to get a cherry dining table, but with some help from Fred we finally decided on a live edge walnut table. Fred was a great help throughout the process, giving excellent advice and responding very quickly to questions. The result is an absolutely stunning table that will see us through many family gatherings to come. I especially like the fact that Fred was able to design the base using the "cutoff" portion of the slab we chose. The result is that over 95% of the table is from a single tree! I would not hesitate to order my next table from Fred!

We are beyond pleased with our beautiful English Elm live-edge table by Fred Blum! Fred's work truly sparks immense joy. We embarked on the custom table journey unsure of exactly what we wanted, but Fred guided us along the way, taught us so much about the process with patience and care. The final product blew us away, even though Fred had kept us posted on his progress, seeing the table in our space for the first time was truly awe-inspiring. We love the table, and our house now feels like a home with this statement piece built by Fred. I highly recommend using Fred for your next custom project.

Let me begin by saying that over the last three decades, my husband and I have purchased several pieces of custom-made furniture. While there have been many good to excellent craftsmen, Fredric reigns as the best. Fredric’s life-long experience with woodworking, coupled with his diverse skillset and experience (i.e., formal training in mechanical engineering; studies under a noted sculptor; and a teacher of fine art color photography) have paved the way for him to become a master craftsman whose work exemplifies his diversified background. Working with Fredric was a wonderful, mutually effective exchange of ideas and recommendations resulting in the final delivery of a beautiful curly cherry wood dining table. Fredric kept us very apprised of his progress through detailed updates. Throughout this process, it became abundantly clear to us how much pride Fredric takes in his craft along with his consummate desire to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. He is a perfectionist and an artisan – attributes that serve his customers well. Lastly, Fredric is a man of his word. At the start of this project, he provided us with an estimated delivery time. Despite the challenges of Covid, Fredric was able to have our table delivered on time across multiple states (PA to AZ). Since that time, Fredric has followed up with us to: 1) ensure we are satisfied with the end result and 2) provide us with guidance on the care and maintenance of our new table. Bottom line? My husband and I highly recommend Fredric to anyone looking for a museum quality custom-made piece of furniture. Simply said and summing it all up … he is the best of the best.

Our live-edge walnut table is perfect! It's beautiful! It's clearly a master craftsman's work! It's everything we wanted and more. Fred was terrific to work with! He listened to our preferences. He was up-front about what he could deliver vs what was on our wish list. He was just as upfront on the time needed to make the table. The result was better than what we had on our wish list. (And he finished it early!) We unhesitatingly recommend Fred! If you are looking for a custom-made live edge table, you will not be disappointed.

It was a pleasure to work with Fred on our Walnut dining table. He was very timely with his response to our emails and answered all our questions and concerns with great detail and precision. His knowledge and expertise helped us picked the right slab for our home, and he was very quick to help us fix any issues and troubles we had when ordering our slab. He kept us updated on the whole process, from purchasing a slab to making the slab into our dining table, to shipping it to us in a timely manner. The craftsmanship is so exquisite and the attention to detail shows on the table. We thoroughly enjoyed the process, and we are loving our beautiful custom made table. I ordered a large tray to sit on top of an ottoman. The finished product is perfect. It is very well made, attractive, sturdy and beautifully finished. He reached out to me with questions, gave his phone number for convenience. He sent a photo of another project similar to mine and completed everything in the time frame he specified.

Fredric delivered more than I could have asked for with this beautiful project. He has been impeccably realistic, attentive, and receptive to both my wildest and most mundane ideas, while gently reminding me of structural ramifications of said ideas, and always offering solutions. Fredric never once tried to dissuade me from an idea, he simply offered options to achieve them gracefully. As an engineer, artist, and peerless craftsman, the multiple degrees he has earned can be felt in his uncanny ability to bring your visions to fruition in such a way that they will last a lifetime. After our initial design discussion, we were constantly on the same page throughout this project, and I outright refuse to work with anyone else from this day forth.

An absolute pleasure to work with and a beautiful piece of work

Working with Fred was a pleasure. I've given 5 stars in each category even though shipping did not apply in my case because I opted to pick up my table rather than have it shipped. It was obvious to me from his initial proposal that Fred is a passionate craftsman. The design process involved a lot of communication back and forth and Fred provided helpful suggestions but allowed me to feel I was really designing my own one of a kind piece. It was also obvious to me that he was enjoying the process as much as I was! In the end I picked up a beautiful walnut live edge table inlaid with turquoise that is a showpiece in my home. I highly recommend Fred's expertise and artistry!

Working with Fred, was an absolute pleasure. He provided me a tremendous amount of options and communicated the pros/cons at each decision point. Fred kept me in the communication loop throughout the process with status updates and pictures. Fred shipped the items in protective crates. I am extremely pleased with our table and I highly recommend Fred.

We are SO happy with our new dining table! Fred helped us locate and choose a beautiful sycamore slab for the project. His workmanship and attention to detail is very impressive, and communication was a breeze. We highly recommend Fred for any custom wood project!

I very much enjoyed working with Fredric. His design and craftsmanship were excellent and I feel like I received exactly what I asked for. My project was complex and he came up with a perfect solution that both meet my requirements and was visually impressive. I will not hesitate to work with this maker again for any wood working projects.

Fred made us a beautiful kitchen table. The table is stunning. He even included us in the process of picking the wood which was a great experience. He provided different sketches to visualize our descriptions and he communicated and followed up throughout the process to ensure the table, base and legs were what we wanted. His knowledge and expertise are evident in his work. If you are looking for something beautifully made, you should reach out to him immediately. After this experience, I can say with certainty that I will not be shopping at big box stores for pieces that I want to last forever and provide character in our home.

We couldn't be more pleased with our whole experience on CustomMade and, specifically, with Fredric Blum. Once a price and project was agreed upon, we received regular emails which included updated time frames, photos of the work in progress, and delivery information. He was polite, professional, well spoken, and a very, very talented craftsman. Without hesitation we would recommend his work (and already have!). Thank you for such a beautiful dining table. We will enjoy it for years to come - so exciting to see our idea come to fruition!

Working with Fred was wonderful.
