Cherry Coffee Table

We are beyond pleased with our beautiful English Elm live-edge table by Fred Blum! Fred's work truly sparks immense joy. We embarked on the custom table journey unsure of exactly what we wanted, but Fred guided us along the way, taught us so much about the process with patience and care. The final product blew us away, even though Fred had kept us posted on his progress, seeing the table in our space for the first time was truly awe-inspiring. We love the table, and our house now feels like a home with this statement piece built by Fred. I highly recommend using Fred for your next custom project.

I very much enjoyed working with Fredric. His design and craftsmanship were excellent and I feel like I received exactly what I asked for. My project was complex and he came up with a perfect solution that both meet my requirements and was visually impressive. We started out to get a cherry dining table, but with some help from Fred we finally decided on a live edge walnut table. Fred was a great help throughout the process, giving excellent advice and responding very quickly to questions. The result is an absolutely stunning table that will see us through many family gatherings to come. I especially like the fact that Fred was able to design the base using the "cutoff" portion of the slab we chose. The result is that over 95% of the table is from a single tree! I would not hesitate to order my next table from Fred!

Let me begin by saying that over the last three decades, my husband and I have purchased several pieces of custom-made furniture. While there have been many good to excellent craftsmen, Fredric reigns as the best. Fredric’s life-long experience with woodworking, coupled with his diverse skillset and experience (i.e., formal training in mechanical engineering; studies under a noted sculptor; and a teacher of fine art color photography) have paved the way for him to become a master craftsman whose work exemplifies his diversified background.

Working with Fredric was a wonderful, mutually effective exchange of ideas and recommendations resulting in the final delivery of a beautiful curly cherry wood dining table. Fredric kept us very apprised of his progress through detailed updates. Throughout this process, it became abundantly clear to us how much pride Fredric takes in his craft along with his consummate desire to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. He is a perfectionist and an artisan – attributes that serve his customers well.

Lastly, Fredric is a man of his word. At the start of this project, he provided us with an estimated delivery time. Despite the challenges of Covid, Fredric was able to have our table delivered on time across multiple states (PA to AZ). Since that time, Fredric has followed up with us to: 1) ensure we are satisfied with the end result and 2) provide us with guidance on the care and maintenance of our new table.

Bottom line? My husband and I highly recommend Fredric to anyone looking for a museum quality custom-made piece of furniture. Simply said and summing it all up … he is the best of the best.
