I love wood. I always have. Its grain, figuration, texture and color to me seem like abstract paintings. Wood is strong yet resilient. Solid wood is natural. I only use solid wood, never veneer or plywood.
I design and build beautiful tables, each one custom-designed to suit the particular needs and preferences of each client. Beautiful tables begin with beautiful wood. Fortunately, I have sources for high quality wood, every board of which I hand-select. Clients are welcome to come with me to help select the actual wood for their table.
My background includes 50 years of woodworking experience plus fine art and engineering which enable my designs to take into account both aesthetics and functionality. Thus, my tables are both attractive and comfortable in use.
Prices depend on the size of the table and the cost of the wood. Consultation and design are free -- there is no cost or obligation until the project actually begins. I ship or deliver from my workshop in Merion, PA near Philadelphia.

He provided different sketches to visualize our descriptions and he communicated and followed up throughout the process to ensure the table, base and legs were what we wanted. For Curly Cherry Dining Table5.0We started out to get a cherry dining table, but with some help from Fred we finally decided on a live edge walnut table. Fred was a great help throughout the process, giving excellent advice and responding very quickly to questions. The result is an absolutely stunning table that will see us through many family gatherings to come. I especially like the fact that Fred was able to design the base using the "cutoff" portion of the slab we chose. The result is that over 95% of the table is from a single tree! I would not hesitate to order my next table from Fred!
