Vintage 1900s Edwardian Victorian Hat Wide Brim Velvet Lace Flowers

I have been designing custom made hats for many years. I am a self taught milliner who gained my expertise in hat making by studying a Victorian Millinery Course book dating back to 1915. These Edwardian/Victorian style hats are made using those same traditional millinery techniques in which buckram is stretched over a vintage wooden hat block thus forming the shape of the crown. The crown is then wired for strength and stability. The brim is made in the same buckram fabric and is hand shaped to form the desired curve and is also reinforced with a wired edge. A layer of velvet fabric is placed over the top and bottom of the brim and crown. An additional lace layer is placed upon the top of the brim. This is style wide brim hat is more suitable for cooler fall and winter occasions.
