Edwardian Style Wedding Hat Wide Brim In Lilac

$245

Edwardian, Victorian vintage style wedding, bridal hat made in soft pale baby blue fabrics for summer, elaborately detailed with soft ruffles around the brim which match the lace covered crown. The hat is entirely made by hand using instructions from a 1900's millinery text book. The frame of the hat is made in buckram formed over a vintage wooden hat block. The wide brim was shaped with just a slight downward curve and wired for structure and stability. The buckram crown and brim were first layered in a soft blue silk fabric The under brim has another layer of embroidered lace with a tiny flower overall pattern. A pale pink soft charmuse satin band surrounds the crown. I have decorated the hat with heirloom handmade flowers in shades of teal blue and soft pink. The brim is bound with a matching teal blue satin binding. The hat measures 14" from back to front and 17" from side to side. This hat is a beautiful accompaniment to a vintage wedding dress or as an accessory for a Victorian affair, special event, garden party or tea.. READY To SHIP, next business day The hat is made in a medium. This hat is a OOAK and can not be reproduced.

I have always been a maker of things. My first memory of making things was when I was a little girl. I would cut up old sheets while sitting on the living room floor and try to figure out how all the pieces could be fit together to make something. My fascination with fabric has never been far from my mind. I have always had needle and fabric in my hands. I started designing my own cloths in Jr high and never stopped, some 40 years ago. I have always had a love for hats. When I discovered the internet I knew I could now make and sell my hats. I am so excited to have found CustomMade.com a place to share and grow my love of hats.

I offer custom made and ready to wear hats. Hat designs from the 1900's Victorian era past the Roaring 20's flapper days and beyond the World War II Bombshell hats. A hat shop dedicated to the fashions of the past with a connection to the styles of today.
