Wide Brim Elegant Hat Lace Bridal Wedding In A Vintage Style

$245

Summer white, wide brim lace wedding hat. A vintage style design for a vintage inspired wedding, formal tea party or gala event. The hat's crown has a buckram frame covered with a layer in dupioni silk and then another layer of designer tulle embroidered in a floral pattern encrusted with pearls, bugle beads and sequins. The brim is done only in the lace adding a look of mystery as the brim is transparent. The hat is decorated with a silk pleated and and a large back bow. Several handmade chiffon roses adorn the front of the hat. The brim has been hand sculpted to measure 16" front to back. This hat is completely hand made by me and can be made in a large variety of colors. Hat will fit most and is READY TO SHIP. I created this hat by studying a Victorian Millinery Course book dating back to 1915. The hat is made using these same traditional millinery techniques in which buckram, stretched over a vintage wooden hat block forms the shape of the crown. The crown is then wired for strength and stability. The brim is made in the same buckram fabric and is hand shaped to form the curved shape and is also reinforced with a wired edge.

I have always been a maker of things. My first memory of making things was when I was a little girl. I would cut up old sheets while sitting on the living room floor and try to figure out how all the pieces could be fit together to make something. My fascination with fabric has never been far from my mind. I have always had needle and fabric in my hands. I started designing my own cloths in Jr high and never stopped, some 40 years ago. I have always had a love for hats. When I discovered the internet I knew I could now make and sell my hats. I am so excited to have found CustomMade.com a place to share and grow my love of hats.

I offer custom made and ready to wear hats. Hat designs from the 1900's Victorian era past the Roaring 20's flapper days and beyond the World War II Bombshell hats. A hat shop dedicated to the fashions of the past with a connection to the styles of today.
