I’ve been designing and making jewelry and metal objects since I was sixteen.
I started my studies in jewelry/metal in 1976 at Penland School of Crafts in Penland, North Carolina
That same year I was also in the fine arts program at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, .
I was born and raised in Detroit, so I feel it is in my nature to build things out of metal,
just like my father, who was a metal model maker at General Motors.
I work with a variety of metals, but the metals I use the most,are copper, brass and pewter.
The name MetalicImages, refers to the design images I see in the metal at the beginning of the creative process.
My industrial Detroit influences can be seen in my work,but with a contemporary flair.
