Frog And Penguin Backward Kiss
When Sonya listed that she wanted a painting of a penguin and frog in love because she loves frogs and her husband loves penguins, I liked the idea and asked if she was open to a carving of the scene rather than a painting? Sonya loved the idea, so I set out to draw a penguin frog backward kiss at Sonya's request. I then carved each element separately out of poplar wood, then assembled the penguin and base before priming it. I then painted each element with realistic colors and set them on a base to simulate a frozen pond. I sent the final piece to them so she could give it as an anniversary gift to her husband. Belly Up Pub Hub is the place where fantasy encounters between penguins and frogs are commonplace!
