Custom Madrone/Manzanita
While most all the Manzanita/Madrone pieces are entirely custom due to rather random sizes and shapes of each unique piece of hardwood their textures and coloration are undeniably beautiful. The most common use for these pieces are for hangers of some kind: clothing, jewelry, ornamentals, etc. This project, while simple in its design has quite a striking coloration and in a material that incredibly resilient.

Dan Kutzkey Custom Hardwood Designs
I developed a passion for woodworking over many years of doing the occassional remodeling project for a friend or coworker in my spare time. If you notice my profile picture you can see my father, Tim Kutzkey, and myself standing in his custom natural wood home in 2005. Much of what I know about woodworking and design comes from my time spent doing projects with my father growing up. My key areas of interest are projects involving hardwoods and unique pieces with all types of exotics. Though my "digital" portfolio here is quite limited there are very few projects I won't tackle when it comes to custom designs. My designs and concepts have made appearances in many homes throughout California in some form or another and I hope to see a challenge or two come through this website!
