This piece was originally designed to serve a laptop user by allowing them to have a surface to use a laptop, and as many devices as could conceivably be attached (i.e. drawing tablets, mobile devices, and/or separate monitors/keyboards). As the construction progressed, the design developed into a more general-purpose table, with the capacity to seat four comfortably in a dining or social environment. There are three species of wood used: soft fiddle-back Maple for the top, aprons, and internal supports, and domestic Alder for the legs. Mahogany stars adorn the short aprons for strength and aesthetics.
