Grant Kistler Designs
Cabinet & furniture designer/maker located in Richmond, VA. I began my woodworking career as a trim carpenter and independent contractor until an opportunity took my family to live and work in London, UK for a two year period. I was employed at a high end cabinet shop in London that creates unique and award winning work for celebrities, international business people and other clients in the UK, Europe and occasionally the US. I worked alongside and learned from my co-workers who were master craftspeople from throughout Europe. It was an amazing and enlightening experience for me. I'm back in the States now, putting my "old world" knowledge and experience to good use.
Personally, my tastes in design lean towards mid-century modern, contemporary and Asian inspired work although I am happy to facilitate any style of custom woodworking project. I strive to create pieces of the highest precision and quality for both my customers' satisfaction as well my own sense of accomplishment and pride in my work.
Grant was incredibly attentive to my changing ideas around two projects and immediately grasped what I was after in both cases. His work is beautiful, detail-oriented, and finely crafted. He was very communicative around the production process and around arranging shipping - as well as with my questions around assembly when the pieces arrived.
Grant is an extremely talented professional. He listened closely to what I wanted, carefully reviewed the details up front, and added insight and recommendations to the design. He delivered it quickly, creating a finely crafted, bespoke, and solid piece of furniture that is both useful and beautiful. He is a pleasure to work with, I recommend him without reservation.
Grant matched 2 other radiator covers we had perfectly. I would strongly recommend him.
Grant was a joy to work with. We had an unusual request and he was very accommodating. I would highly recommend him for any project. His professionalism shines through.
