Jatoba Jewelry Box For Necklaces

$3,000

The object of this project was to create a jewelry box that had a better way of storing 100 necklaces 50 pairs of earring and 6 watches. There are a ton of beautiful jewelry boxes out there, but a lot of them lack practical functionality. Every jewelry box that I have looked in usually looks like a spider's web of necklaces with rings and earring trapped inside it. This causes a problem when you actually want to wear the jewelry you are putting in the box. It's so easy to damage valuable and sometime a priceless piece of jewelry when it's stored this way. So my solution to this problem was to build vertical drawers on sliding tracks. The five sliders pull all the way out and then pivot 90 degrees both ways. This allows you to see the necklaces or earrings hanging on both sides without having to bend over or turn your head in an awkward position. This box also has 2 drawers. One with adjustable dividers in them to suit the customers needs. It also has a drawer designated to six watches. The box is 17 5/8"H, 12 1/2"W and 9 5/8"D. The options of this box are endless. I can use any wood that you desire and I have a couple of different designs that utilize the vertical drawers. I really enjoyed building this box and I look forward to working with you on yours.

Christopher did an amazing job building a custom jewelry box that I'm going to give as a gift. The piece is exactly what we discussed and is absolutely beautiful to look at with solid construction. Throughout the project he kept me updated with progress reports and pictures of the work in progress. When UPS damaged the item during delivery he worked with me to fix the damage very quickly.

I'm so happy with the work, I've already started a second project with him.

While I like the product and workmanship, I cannot say I'm very happy with the communication with Christopher. He didn't respond to my initial questions for more than 2 weeks and never responded to my last email regarding when I might expect him to ship my order. While he made my order slightly larger without increasing the cost, which I appreciate, he nevertheless was not in communication with me and it took longer for him to complete the order than was promised. I also was taken aback by the shipping charge fees. For a pretty small package $40 is way more than it should have cost. I expect the increased shipping charges have more to do with increasing the profit of the work than the actual cost of shipping the item, although I cannot verify this.
