Japanese Getabako (Shoe Cabinet)
Getabako are traditionally used by the Japanese as a shoe cabinet. This is an example of a non traditional style but design options are endless. It could also function as a linen or clothes cabinet, home or office storage or even a keepsake cabinet. This piece is built using Curly Maple and Curly Cherry form Pennsylvania. The Maple and Cherry from that region are sometimes full of beautiful figure and curl. This always adds to the beauty of any fine wood piece. A getabako or any similar style case can be built using any species of wood. Specific dimensions and species of wood chosen determine sale price.

We did have some delays due to problems with his suppliers and some damaged supplies, but Brian generously offered to help with the cost of shipping to make up for these delays. Really a great process overall and we have stools that are gorgeous and beautifully made. Well worth it!
