The Brooklyn dining table is made from natural edge maple slabs, with hand-cut black walnut butterfly joints, and a small 'keyhole' feature at each end. The base is made from welded 3"x1" rectangular steel, in matte black powdercoat finish, with a slight taper towards to the floor to give it a nice visual lightness. The finish and visual proportions match my Brooklyn coffee table. The non-toxic, health-counscious finish is resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc. according to German Industrial DIN 68861 - 1C and complies EURO-NORM EN 71 (suitable for children's toys). This finish makes product care simple and easy. In most cases all that's needed is an occasional wipe-down with a soft cloth dampened with water. A detailed finish description is available on request. This table normally measures approximately 72"L x 36"W x 30"H, but both larger and smaller custom sizes are available, and each slab top is uniquely one of a kind. You have some choices on slab size and butterfly placement, as well as the finish color for the legs. Please send me a message before purchase. I specialize in reclaimed materials, healthy and environmentally friendly finishes, and run a full custom furniture shop and retail store in Oregon. I am a strong advocate of recycling in its many forms, and am proud to offer historic lumber products a second life as a work of art or furniture. I am involved with the materials I use from the very beginning, whether it be architectural salvage, or rescuing logs from pulp yards and milling them into raw lumber. From selection and processing to finished product and shipping, I am involved every step of the way. I appreciate both the process and the benefits of using salvaged materials and historical lumber to design and fabricate second-life products, while minimizing or negating resource consumption.
I can work with you from the earliest stages of design, through fabrication and delivery. Due to the age, color, grain, and source of my materials, each piece is unique and one of a kind, and is therefore customizable to the smallest detail. I pride myself in offering sustainable, responsible, and healthful solutions for your design needs.

For Custom Entry Console TableOne caveat: we have not yet picked up our table. However, we have been very happy with how this project has gone. We saw one of Jonathan's floating wood tables with a metal base on the Custom Made website and fell in love with it. After corresponding with Jonathan, we asked him to make the same table but with a different stain and different metal base. He worked closely with us throughout the process. He sent us two samples with the proposed stain and we made our selection from the two. When the project was complete, he sent us two photos with good shots of the top with the beautiful unique grain. We are picking the table up this week and are very excited. It looks exactly as we envisioned. This was a very good experience.

For Reclaimed Maple Slab Coffee Table With Black Walnut ButterflysJonathan, made a custom coffee table and end table for us from a beautiful walnut slab. We designed the pieces together over email and we could not be happier with the end product. Workmanship is top notch. The wood is incredible. The pieces survived shipment from Oregon to the east coast with no damage. We highly recommend Jonathan for custom woodwork.

For Black Walnut Industrial End Table SetI had this table made for a client who had a unique need to pull together two different wood finishes. I also wanted to keep the items specified as environmentally responsible as possible, plus meet a tight non-profit budget while maintaining quality and fabulous contemporary style. Jonathan fit the bill perfectly and the client and I are thrilled with this one of a kind piece of usable art! AND If I could give him an A+ on shipping, I would because the box and foam protection were custom made too!

For Salvaged Black Walnut benchI ended up getting several pieces from Jonathan, both because of the high quality of his work (which is just as apparent through photographs as it is in person) and his willingness to work within my needs and limitations. I couldn't be happier with the pieces he made for me. This was my first time using this site and getting custom furniture made, and Jonathan made the experience exciting and easy.
