Redmond Rustic-Modern Coffee Table
This minimal, rustic-modern coffee table is made from reclaimed antique fir from the turn of the century, salvaged from structures in Oregon. The patina and old saw marks of this wood have a nice visual texture, while the surface is still very smooth to the touch and maintenance free. The base is seamlessly welded steel in matte black finish. The non-toxic, health-counscious finish is resistant to wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water etc. according to German Industrial DIN 68861 - 1C and complies EURO-NORM EN 71 (suitable for children's toys). This finish makes product care simple and easy. In most cases all that's needed is an occasional wipe-down with a soft cloth dampened with water. I am a strong advocate of recycling in its many forms, and am proud to offer historic lumber products a second life as a work of art or furniture. I am involved with the materials I use from the very beginning, whether it be architectural salvage, or rescuing logs from pulp yards and milling them into raw lumber. From selection and processing to finished product and shipping, I am involved every step of the way.
