Walnut Desk And Hutch

$4,000

This was an interesting project. The client enjoys flight simulators on his computer but wanted the various joysticks and controls to be tucked away when not in use. The solution we chose was to design a recessed cabinet in the desk top (right side of desk). In addition, I designed the hutch such that the bottom cabinet could hold other controllers. There are also hidden wire runs under the desk, metal grommets for plug access, etc. The goal was to have a clean, attractive desk that still allowed for all the gadgetry and computer hardware. The desk was made from walnut solids and veneers. The drawer fronts on the desk and the hutch are matching, figured walnut lumber from Pennsylvania. The client chose a dark stain with contemporary, brushed nickel hardware. The result is a modern piece with a decidedly masculine feel.
