This project, a lampshade recovering job came to me via a client in Oregon. My mission was to strip the original lampshade frame, clean and restore the wire frame and recover it with a new updated look while retaining it's original Early American theme. Since the fabrics used during that time period were more rustic and natural, I used a linen fabric on the skirt and crown and a stiff netting around the bottom of the skirt ( the old nettings were many times made with some form of wire in them to make them stiffer). I might add that with all of the types of lampshades that I have created or recovered, Early American lampshades are very time consuming and horribly difficult, but the end result is something you can be proud to accomplish. Note: Prices on large lamp shades have increased due to the very high cost of shipping oversize boxes.
