Custom Oriential Floor Lamp Lampshade

My project here was to create a custom Oriental lampshade for this wonderful vintage Floor lamp. Originally, my client had a white cone shaped paper lampshade on the lamp which really did no justice to the wonderful detail in the lamp. When I am posed with the task of creating a new lampshade for a client, one question I ask them is "Are you trying to bring focus to your lamp as an art piece our are you wanting your lamp to blend into your decor and act only as a light source to enhance the other decor in your room"? It can work wonderfully both ways. I do enjoy going over the top with my creations. Think if Michelangelo had only painted one image on the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel! Note: Prices on large lamp shades have increased due to the very high cost of shipping oversize boxes.
