The Letter from Paris, is an exquisite, vintage table lamp, one of few that I have found with it's original lamp shade frame. With the wonderful detail and workmanship in the lamp, it was un-questioned she had to become one of my Illuminated art pieces. With light tan marble and a decorative filigree band around her base, her main finish was practically existent . While stripping the lamp, I soon discovered that the base and body was cast in heavy brass. I hated to cover it up but I really wanted to bring out her detail, so I compromised by brushing black on only parts of the lamp and letting the beautiful bright brass shine through the rest. I wanted to pull those specific colors into the lamp shade. The lamp shade frame has been recovered in gold lame, gold and black metallic lace, hand beaded fringes, and gold netting to match the design in the base. She has not the character that she had when I found her, she is now an elegant lady. This lamp stands 16 1/2 high x 9 1/2 wide.
