This particular piece is a beautiful rustic TV console made of steel and some very interesting reclaimed vintage wood. This amazing wood comes from a salvaged barge that was destroyed as a result of the 2011 Japanese tsunami. The barge was built in 1968 and was anchored in Mission Bay (San Diego, CA). The tsunami traveled thousands of miles from Japan, hit the California coast and caused the barge to break loose from its mooring. Luckily, this beautiful wood was reclaimed and is now being used to make custom furniture. The wood has one of the most beautiful patinas we have ever seen. The colors are incredibly varied with rich tones of red, green, turquoise white, brown and more. No two pieces are the same. I have left the wood unsealed on this one, but we would be happy to seal it for you (which may change the color slightly). On a side note, we have a video of the barge being destroyed by the tidal surge and would be happy to give it to you. The dimensions for the stand in this listing are (approximately) 14.5" D x 39 ½" W x 14" H. We can build it in any height, up to 20" at no extra charge – just pay the extra shipping. This option allows for more planks to be used and gives even more variation in the colors.
