Maple And Steel Bookshelf
Bookshelf stands 39" tall 34" long and 11 inches deep. Made with solid maple shelves and waxed raw steel. The finish on the wood is a hand rubbed oil poly mix. The shelf is very sturdy and weights about 30 lbs fully assembled. The piece comes flat packed and will take about 1 hour to assemble. I can do custom orders for different types of wood and colors of steel along with custom sizes for an extra charge. Everything is hand made in the USA. Each shelf is custom and please allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery! All shelves can be custom made with different colors of powder coat or wood types. The process of making each piece is as or more important to myself as the final piece. I try to keep my customers informed of the processes I am using while making their specific works of art or furniture. While I am working with a piece of furniture or piece of art the materials I use come from specific choices of color combinations, textures, contrast and overall appearance. Often while I work the ideas I have change while working with different materials because the material might respond differently then expected. This changes the project I am working and future projects. I have been trained as an architect so I love to design and building with my own hands. I am passionate about great design.

Apr 16, 2015Matt did a terrific job building these bookshelves for my living room. They look great and all materials have a high-quality feel. Delivery was similarly easy - Matt brought the shelves down and assembled them. Delivery exactly in line with the completion date he estimated at the beginning of the project. The only area where I wouldn't give him top marks is in communication as it often took several days for him to respond to emails. However, I live in a Chicago, where everyone checks their e-mail every 30 seconds, so this is probably just a matter of perspective. Matt always got back to me within a few days or a week, and his work on this job was fantastic. I can highly recommend Matt and would most definitely work with him again.
