Floating Walnut Wood And Steel Shelf
Bookshelf stands 42" tall 68" long and 14 inches deep. Made with solid walnut shelves and raw waxed steel. The finish on the wood is oil poly mix. The shelf is very sturdy and weights about 130 lbs fully assembled. The piece comes flat packed and will take about 1 hour to assemble. I can do custom orders for different types of wood and different colors of steel. Everything is hand made in the USA. Each shelf is custom and please allow 3 to 4 weeks for delivery! All shelves can be custom made with different colors of powder coat or wood types. For custom work please request a quote for the shelf and also a custom shipping quote to your location.

The process of making each piece is as or more important to myself as the final piece. I try to keep my customers informed of the processes I am using while making their specific works of art or furniture. While I am working with a piece of furniture or piece of art the materials I use come from specific choices of color combinations, textures, contrast and overall appearance. Often while I work the ideas I have change while working with different materials because the material might respond differently then expected. This changes the project I am working and future projects. I have been trained as an architect so I love to design and building with my own hands. I am passionate about great design.

Delivery was similarly easy - Matt brought the shelves down and assembled them. Delivery exactly in line with the completion date he estimated at the beginning of the project. The only area where I wouldn't give him top marks is in communication as it often took several days for him to respond to emails. However, I live in a Chicago, where everyone checks their e-mail every 30 seconds, so this is probably just a matter of perspective. Matt always got back to me within a few days or a week, and his work on this job was fantastic. I can highly recommend Matt and would most definitely work with him again.
