Ash Slab Modern Dining Table

This is a Northern Michigan Ash slab, bookmatched, dining table. 9 feet long x 34" wide. The wood is reclaimed from a tree which succumed to the Emerald Ash borer (we are losing are Ash trees in the US!!!). The frame is handpolished and brushed. Flawless lines, seamless welds which were surface ground. The entire frame was designed & fabricated to appear as one solid piece of metal. Nickle plated adjustable feet. We are undergoing the finishing process which takes us about 3 weeks total. We are staining the wood with a medium Danish oil. 6 coats will be applied & wet sanded to completely fill in the natural porous grain structure of the wood. We want to ensure the surface is perfectly flat with no voids or grain structures showing at any angle of light. We will apply 3-4 coats of a protective top coat (FDA approved) & polish he final coat to a 1200 grit so we can achieve a semi-gloss shean. We consider ourselves a premier slab furniture maker. We can source so absolutely stunning Texas Pecan, Mesquite, Cottonwood, Oak and Black Walnet. We also have a S. American & African supplier of exotic slab wood. This particular table retails for $12,000 but I do offer wholesale pricing direct to online customers (typically 50-60% of retail).
