Katama Blue Media Room Game Console W/Native Elm Top
Game console designed for media room as part of a 4-piece suite we constructed (media console, game console, large coffee/game table, side table). The room was part of an addition/renovation of a large comfortable beach house. Homeowners are art collectors, house is very colorful and eclectic, and they wanted a family entertainment room suite that combined function with surprise details and saturated colors. Interior designer selected from our paint palette colors which we custom-layered for visual texture. Countertop is locally-milled Island elm, with a natural edge, from trees felled by storm damage. Case is made of reclaimed fir, board & batten siding, and barn wood. The triple-tone paint finish is Indian Hill Blue over Heather's Green over Pekor Blue.

Demolition Revival Furniture
Demolition Revival Furniture is a unique green studio woodshop on the island of Martha's Vineyard. We design and build every piece of our functional art furniture and cabinetry out of locally sourced reclaimed wood and salvaged hardware, utilizing approximately 90% recycled materials in each one -- from medicine chests and nightstands to intricate storage hutches and full-wall entertainment consoles, each design is singular and original with details inspired by the materials at hand. We use low and zero-VOC color coats and sealants, and hand-finish each piece with beeswax.
We work with homeowners and interior designers to develop unique new pieces with the look and feel of family heirlooms. We also have a wide range of ready-made furniture available for purchase.

Nov 29, 2012Love Laura's work so much, we have had 6 custom pieces made -- large dining room buffet, bathroom vanity, 2 nightstands, medicine chest, and also one of her birdhouse towers in our entryway for mittens & hats & kid stuff. She's easy to work with, does a great job integrating her artistic rustic style with our color palette and functional needs. It's made our interior really unique, we're hooked.
