The Z-Max Shogun, A new twist on an old favorite. Although Z-Max guitars are made to your exact specifications and can differ what you see here, we would like to tell you about the shoguns seen in this gallery. perhaps to spark your own ideas. The body is a new twist on the classic "V" design. the Shogun features a tapered, string through, body to help maintain a comfortable feel and perfect balance. the spruce used in the construction provides a nice resonant tone. often superior tone woods like spruce are reserved for the soundboards of acoustic instruments, but we have found they work quite well in both hollow and solid body construction. the incredible tone and sustain is pushed further to the ends of the universe by a powerful array of Dimarzio pickups. again we opted for something a little less common. a single, double, single pickup configuration. in actuality, both the Pro-tracks pickup in the neck and the Chopper pickup in the bridge are humbucking pickups designed by Dimarzio to fit in a single space. both are armed with a coil tap switch to give you the option of double or single coil sound. the Dimarzio Air Norton, mounted in the middle position is armed with a double coil tap switch. this allows you not only to select from double coil to single coil, but select which coil you want. seen in these photos are the beautifully inlaid, mahogany, necks, featuring a flame design. the "space-scape" art work was done by one of our own, in house artists, who is always available and at your disposal. the hardware, includes Gotoh tuners and a Schaller roller bridge with adjustable string spacing.

For Custom desk for Euphonix Artist SeriesTaking on designing my own desk was a challenge of itself; however, working with Tom Z. made it easier. As the master craftsman that he is, we did not leave one stone unturned. We walked through every inch of this project from the engineering, portability, stain, finish, weight etc... I am extremely satisfied with the final product. I recommend Z Max guitars to everyone. As you can tell, he builds more than just guitars. I also want to give thanks to Rob who also worked on my desk. Tom and Rob are a dynamic duo, very professional, and treated me well when we arrive to pickup the desk at the shop. I'll send Tom some pics of the desk at my studio for everyone to see the final product at home.

For Custom TribalI have never in my life dealt with a more professional individual than Tom. He kept me informed throughout the entire process of building my guitar. The finished product was immaculate and the process was awesome. I would recommend Tom to anyone at all that would listen to what I have to say. Not only is he an expert with wood, but he plays as well, so you really get the whole package by choosing him. If you don't believe me, look at his work, mine is the tribal warrior and the rest of his work is impeccable as well. I can't say enough that Gibson and Epiphone should not only take some pointers from Tom on quality and craftsmanship, but customer service, before, during, and after the sale as well. I will NEVER go anywhere else! Thank you Tom, you truly have a gift and are the very best!

For Harp Guitar Tree OrnamentTom worked with me to create a custom mini harp guitar ornament for a good friend of mine. I was so impressed by the level of detail in his work, and he went above and beyond to make sure the final product was to my satisfaction. During the entire build, he kept me up-to-date with everything he did in great detail. I felt very involved with the process. He was also respectful towards my budget, but did not spend any less time or quality of craftsmanship than he would any other piece. I was impressed with his resourcefulness, especially because my piece required such small additions, and he did a phenomenal job finding replicas of parts that were realistic. It is clear that Tom is enthusiastic and passionate about his craft, and it shows in his work. I couldn't be more pleased. It has been a pleasure to have Tom bring my idea to life, and I look forward to working with him again.

For Audio Studio Workstation DeskTom responded to my post looking for someone to build an audio workstation desk. I was initially reluctant to go with someone out of state (I'm in MD, he's in NY) due to it being a large furniture. But my skepticism quickly disappeared when he clearly showed that he understood the technical needs and the need for proper communication. After dealing with a previous person that ended badly and with others that were obvious they were not good communicators, Tom's professionalism easily shone through. Every step of the way, Tom meticulously documented the progress and kept me in the loop as if I'm right there. He gave me the peace of mind knowing I made the right investment. He also had a very close attention to detail that I couldn't appreciate more. Tom clearly showed that he was as passionate about doing this right as me. He took initiatives to get things done correctly where ever I couldn't account for. The final product is absolutely beautiful. I love the new desk and it's extremely comfortable in look, feel, and functionality. By now it should be very apparent: Tom is a true and honest professional who is very passionate about his craft. He should the one working on your next project.
