This TV stand is made from heart pine (wood from the center of a 200+ year old tree). Heart pine is very hard to obtain as modern practices do not allow trees to grow that old before harvesting them. This TV stand is very strong and does not flex or bend at all. It is also very stable due to the weight of the heart pine. This pine is also reclaimed from an old factory that was being torn down.

Cooper's Custom Projects is a small wood shop where we have a passion for building well-constructed kitchen and dining room tables, coffee tables, unique shelves, entertainment centers, console tables, children's furniture, toys and more.
Ours is a home-based business, so we have lower overhead but still have a high-quality process and facility with a large shop and dedicated clean paint-room.
We specialize in building rustic and homey furniture, but also have experience with built-ins, cabinets, and modern furniture. We also build most of our projects out of reclaimed wood to help the Earth and to give your new piece some added history and character.
Depending on your needs we source new or reclaimed wood from local mills in New England.
Cooper's Custom Projects also has a passion for finishes, both painted and stained. We know that it takes more time to apply the finish to most projects than it did to build it and we love to spend that time making your project look amazing and last a lifetime.
Drop us a line if you have any questions about what we can make for you!

For cutting tableI couldn't be happier with the cutting table Michael made for my sewing studio. From discussing the initial design, to advising what types of wood and finish he thought would best fit my needs, he was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. He was professional, kind, and communicative. Best of all, he makes beautiful furniture! I hope to work with him again.

For Industrial-Mill Inspired DeskThe project was the "Industrial-Mill Inspired Desk" in a custom size. The table top is nice and shipping/delivery to the Boston area was an easy experience. My main concern is that the edges on the legs are quite sharp, even though they were spec'd as being rounded (which the table top is). Michael even took the desk back to his shop after first showing it, to us to take off some of the sharpness. It was hard to be too critical at the second delivery (and the full cost was already paid). So the leg edges are not very rounded, and one of them left a nasty bruise when a family member bumped her head. As well, the bottom of the table has sharp edges and is largely unfinished. That might be appropriate for the back of a cabinet which no one will ever see or touch, but the underside of a desk does come in contact with the human body, and deserves a better finish.

For Small cherry deskMichael is a talented woodworker and a real pleasure to work with. Throughout the project he communicated with me clearly and often, helping me envision exactly the desk I needed, keeping me informed about progress, and asking for my input when needed.
The result is terrific, a small desk I will use and appreciate for a very long time.
I highly recommend Michael.
