Children's Play Kitchen

My desk was exactly what I envisioned. Michael is very talented and has a great attention to detail.

The project was the "Industrial-Mill Inspired Desk" in a custom size. The table top is nice and shipping/delivery to the Boston area was an easy experience. My main concern is that the edges on the legs are quite sharp, even though they were spec'd as being rounded (which the table top is). Michael even took the desk back to his shop after first showing it, to us to take off some of the sharpness. It was hard to be too critical at the second delivery (and the full cost was already paid). So the leg edges are not very rounded, and one of them left a nasty bruise when a family member bumped her head. As well, the bottom of the table has sharp edges and is largely unfinished. That might be appropriate for the back of a cabinet which no one will ever see or touch, but the underside of a desk does come in contact with the human body, and deserves a better finish.

I had an idea in mind for the coffee table we were looking for in our tiny living room -- but wasn't able to find exactly what I wanted in catalogs, and instead, decided to try CustomMade. Michael/Cooper's Custom Projects did an amazing job translating my vision from two photos (each with partial components I wanted to replicate) and my project description and dimensions.

He even shared exactly where the (reclaimed) wood came from that was used in the project. He worked with me on stain colors, provided recommendations, and was just all-around a pleasure to work with…because he is local, we picked up the table ourselves (mostly because I wanted to see his workshop!) and he was just as great in person.

In short, I would highly recommend Cooper's Custom Projects for any wood-working project, we're extremely happy with the end product!

I will be actively looking for ways to work with Cooper's Custom Projects again. He's absolutely stellar, and delivered a top-notch product (much better than I could have found retail) on-time and on-budget.

I can't say it enough: buy something from him. He's awesome, and you'll be blown away.

I couldn't be happier with the cutting table Michael made for my sewing studio. From discussing the initial design, to advising what types of wood and finish he thought would best fit my needs, he was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. He was professional, kind, and communicative. Best of all, he makes beautiful furniture! I hope to work with him again.
