Used bicycle gears sourced from a local bike shop are mortised into three of the frames corners. Stainless steel screws through the face of the frame and through the gears hold the cogs in place and add some extra strength to the frame. The wood for the frame is from a locally razed, 100+ year old barn that we took down in 2000. Antique heart pine with some nice aged patina finished with an extremely durable matte lacquer . The frame is 24"x 30"

I have built multi-million dollar homes for Gene Fritzel Construction for 22 years. This has led me to my passion and what I think is my calling as a furniture designer/builder. I work in wood, metal and concrete as well as many other media. The pieces I have made recently have an industrial feel. I like to use reclaimed wood and iron pieces picked up from random places. Wood is my love!
