This is a two-fisted lift-lid box made of dramatically colored mango. The bookmatched mango lid is framed with a vintage koa frame exhibiting bird's-eye and curly figure and has milo trim. The mango's wild open grain is characteristic of wood found just under the bark of the tree. This material is usually damaged by insect activity or mangled as the tree is felled and milled, but if it survives it often contains a rainbow of color as seen here. the size and shape of a box is usually determined by what pieces of wood are available - this box is about 6" x 13" and is quite solid. The lid lifts off and fits both ways (all my boxes have this feature). Lined with aromatic cedar, signed and dated, finished with color-matched Ultrasuede.

I make one-of-a-kind heirloom boxes, personal furniture, commemorative items and accessories out of figured and unusual hardwoods. I have been at this since 1976.
Tim was an absolute pleasure to work with on my project. He went above and beyond to help me turn a drawing that I made into a physical object that I know I will treasure for years and generations to come. He is so knowledgable on his craft, so do not be afraid if you aren't aware of how wood and other materials work (I surely wasn't). I couldn't recommend him more. Worth every penny and more. Look no further!!!
This is the third box that I've purchased.
Timothy is great. Very thoughtful and resourceful. He created the feeder under a very tight deadline. Much appreciated.
I am so very pleased with my box made by Timothy. It is beautiful and is a gift that I am very proud to give. Thank you, Timothy.
We love it! Great experience and very professional work , again we love the piece, thank you
