A client needed three slumped glass lampshades to replace some original lampshades that were damaged in an earthquake. The shades needed to fit an original wrought iron lamp and bulb, and be an amber color. I fused amber glass to clear to make a thicker sheet, then slumped the sheets in stages over first a metal form bent to about 80 degrees, then over a ceramic form bent to almost 180 degrees.

Fused glass work is my primary focus, but I also work in leaded stained glass, found object sculpture, large abstract watercolors, and acrylic painting. I use glass to make custom lighting fixtures and chandeliers. Most of my material is scrap recycled from local leaded glass businesses. Musical themes predominate, but I am open to other imagery. I am able to incorporate text and personal photographs into my custom work.
In addition to glass, I make custom or reproduction lead castings for use with leaded glass panels.
Cindy
For dining room light fixtureThe shipping delay was the post office's fault, not David's. He kept in touch and communicated almost daily with the post office. The lamp did arrive safely, just much later than we expected. David was wonderful to work with. He answered all my questions and worked very hard to give us just what we wanted, and he did. We are very happy with the result. He does fine work.
