I mounted an antique lamp base on granite and used copper pipe to make the body of this lamp. The shade is glass that was fused in a ribbed mold, then slumped and manipulated in a kiln. I sandblasted the finished shade for a matte finish.

Fused glass work is my primary focus, but I also work in leaded stained glass, found object sculpture, large abstract watercolors, and acrylic painting. I use glass to make custom lighting fixtures and chandeliers. Most of my material is scrap recycled from local leaded glass businesses. Musical themes predominate, but I am open to other imagery. I am able to incorporate text and personal photographs into my custom work.
In addition to glass, I make custom or reproduction lead castings for use with leaded glass panels.

For Slumped Glass LampshadesThis was the first time I used CustomMade, and I was very pleased with the results of my project. I had a pair of broken slumped glass lampshades that I wanted to recreate. David provided a detailed description of the process he would use to create new lampshades for me and an approximate timeframe. He communicated with me each step of the way and provided pictures of how my lampshades were progressing. When he hit a snag, he let me know how he was going to address it, always communicating along the way. The result was a beautiful pair of lampshades that were nearly identical to the original broken ones. I greatly appreciate his talent and his willingness to go the extra mile to ensure the project met my expections. If you're looking for an experienced artist to complete a quality project for you, I highly recommend David.

For Slumped Glass LampshadesWhen I broke my glass lampshade I was devastated. Glad it was me but not my grandchildren. Did not think this design could ever be replaced. Mr. Zvanut was able to melt it and recreate-he is a true artist. The project was swift and thorough. I received regular communication and pictures along the way. I would highly recommend him for any glass projects. Thank you David!
