Very strong and sturdy, the cane handle and shaft are made of Black Walnut (North America). This smart looking piece has smooth simple lines. The maximum custom cane length for the walking cane is about 38" and may be made to your custom length. Please request cane length when inquiring. The handle has a very comfortable feel in the palm of the hand (handle measures 6" length, 1 " width, 2" height). Wood color is natural and the top coat finish is a combination of tung oil and oil varnish. The rubber tip (7/8") has a steel insert to last a long time and replacements are found at drug or medical supply stores. The lathe turned bottom/ tip section is 8-10" in length. The handle and shaft are joined with mortise and tenon which extends 1 3/4" into the handle.
