Music Conductors Baton - Handmade- Spectra Ply Handle And Poplar Wood Tip
Great gift for a favorite music teacher! Overall length: 12" or 14" your choice Handle length: 2 3/8" Handle width at widest point : 1" Shaft diameter: 1/4" tapers to 1/8" Comes bubble wrapped and in a mailing tube. I turned this music conductors baton on my wood lathe. The handle is a laminated plywood product called spectra ply. Thin layers of maple veneer are died a variety of colors and then laminated in various patterns to produce a striking rainbow wood that is very colorful, stable, and finishes nicely. Both the handle and poplar wood shaft are epoxy glued together and finished with a water based clear finish which does not yellow.
