Shaped and carved of walnut to match the organ, I formed a base of sterling, with the loops for the tie, edges on both sides, and the pedals coming up through the carving. The monkey was carved from 14kt y gold, with sapphire eyes, and soldered to the silver backing. Scraps of actual ivory and ebony from a piano manufacturer in the forties were inlaid for the keys, and 14kt yellow stops, many set with rubies, were drilled into the walnut.
