Chest Of Drawers-Plan D

$2,300

Plan D was born out of a real need to come up with something I had never done or seen before. The initial spark of inspiration came from another piece I made called "Floating Drawers". I took that idea and played with it some more. After many weeks of designing and then redesigning I came up with several ideas which I happened to name Plan A through Plan D. In this case it was the 4th time that was a charm. The overall dimensions are: 24-3/4" Wide by 21-1/2" Deep by 57" High The L-Shaped frame is made of solid Walnut and the drawers are made of Alder that I stained darker. I've also designed this piece as a smaller version for somebody that wanted a night stand. I made that one much shorter and a little wider. Please keep in mind that this piece is heavy, so I hope you live near California.

A little about me.
I used my Montgomery G.I Bill money I got from serving to go to woodworking school. I spent 3 and a half years in the school and then I worked for a few different wood shops till I landed where I am now.
I am very happy where I am now and super proud of the work we do there.
When I'm not designing for clients I'm building my own designs.

My ethos is the same as all great designers. That is, “Form Must Always Follow Function”.
I, like most people, have a favorite things to look at. For me it’s trees, I love almost all of them. When I'm standing under a huge one I get such a feeling of peace and comfort.
I’m sure we all know by now that trees look the way they do because that’s exactly how they need to be designed in order for them to thrive.
The tree to me is the epitome of Form Following Function.

The tree is my standard, it is the bar that I’m trying to reach.
A tree is mighty and durable. I want my furniture to be strong and well built.
A tree is beautiful and timeless. I want my furniture to be super cool and never trendy.

Thanks again for taking the time.
