"Old" Hotel Bar Of Distressed Alder
This was a large bar for a large lake house. Made from Alder and heavily distressed. Customer/Designer wanted the look of an old bar from an old hotel. Lots of appliances were built in with a large range under the mirror which conceals a TV. (The TV shows through the mirror when it is turned on.) Mortise and tenon joinery throughout and at last count, approximately 400 of them went into the bar. The canopy is lit underneath and the inside of the canopy has copper panels between the coffers. The panels were patinated and then distressed to give that "years of smoke" look. The date is hand carved on the canopy panel as a reminder of the construction of the house. The bar top is 2" ash and distressed also.
