Light Switch Cover
Forge welded steel cover plate for any type of light switch. Shown is an example of one for one switch. I can decorate them with ferns, butterflies or dragonflies. The rainbow colors are from the heating process. The fern is rubbed with a brass brush when hot to give the bronze patina. It has a wax finish to protect the color.

The Velvet Hammer, Ltd.
Having started blacksmithing in 1978, I have developed a wide ranging and extensive portfolio. I am best known for my lamps with blown glass shades, but also make funcitonal work for the kitchen, bath and home in general. I also forge railings.
My personal style is organic in nature, but I enjoy working with clients to develop pieces that reflect their personality and interests, no matter the style.
