Repurposed Rustic Jewelry Walnut Barn Wood Box

$99

Repurposed Rustic Jewelry Walnut Barn wood Box This sides are bonified barn wood that was torn off. The grain goes from the blackest of purple to sea of blacks and browns. The trim around the top lid was picked up literally out of the trash at a local flooring company. The bottom of the box is beautiful weathered Hickory as well as the Lid. This was pain staking work to get the box joints to fit as tight as they do as the barn wood is TOUGH to work with and make the tolerances just right for a box (a chair is hard enough). LOOK at it shine, man alive it almost knocks your eyes out…this ones' a keeper. You will also notice the finish work done on the interior of the box with "hand flocked" genuine wine colored suede…soft and FINISHED. This has all the "looks" of old world/ old school craftsmanship. With all the character. You WILL NOT find another with fit and finish like this one as it IS a one of a kind. If you pulled this out of your grandparents barn you'd know thats where it originally came from---never guessing I made it yesterday… Dimensions: 11" x 10" x 3"

    For Angled wall display case
    4.2

The display case was high-quality and communication was great. Terry made recommendations when there were questions about materials and assembly options and found the best solution for what was needed (while staying on budget). There were a few issues with the finished piece arriving broken in the mail, but overall the the finished piece exceeded expectations.

    For loft bed and dresser
    5.0

What an all-around wonderful experience! I sketched out a loft bed and dresser that would be a surprise for my daughter's 13th birthday. I liked Terry from his very first response to the project. He didn't just say he would build it--he said he would really have fun building it! After communicating back and forth (always with very prompt replies from Terry), I felt he truly had a vision for what I wanted, so I accepted his bid. He regularly posted photos for me; he always responded quickly and patiently when I had questions; and he made some really good suggestions that I ended up using. Half-way through the process, I asked him to add a mirror to the dresser, which he did at no extra charge. When the loft was almost finished, we discovered that it was going to be a little too tall (my fault from my poor sketching abilities) and would cover up part of my daughter's mural. I told Terry not to worry about it and that I would have the mural altered. However, he completely reworked the base of the bed and said that he insisted on delivering exactly what I wanted. And deliver, he did! He and his family drove 11 hours to personally deliver the furniture and set it up in my daughter's room! The furniture itself is well-constructed and beautiful, the price was reasonable, the process was very pleasant, and Terry actually made it in less time than promised. I can't imagine ever buying a pre-made piece of furniture again. I would definitely hire Terry to build something else for me (and hope I can soon). Oh, and my daughter absolutely LOVES her furniture. I will post some photos asap.

    4.5

Terry was excellent to work with. He kept the cost low and provided exceptional quality. The only problems came from a miscommunication in measurements from me and Terry was willing to take care of the problem without any hesitation. I did not know Terry before using CustomMade and I would not hesitate to use him again. Quality experience all the way through.

    Cons for CustomMade:
Shipping was relatively low for the size and weight, but it was more than I thought it would be. I would just caution in general if you are using CustomMade and having a unit shipped cross country like I did, make sure you estimate the cost of shipping ahead of time. And get the measurements perfect the first time!
